Position Overview

To ensure efficient operation, preventive and corrective maintenance, and optimal performance of the solar plant by conducting regular inspections, troubleshooting faults, and maintaining all electrical and mechanical systems at the site


Roles and Responsibilities

1. Operations & Monitoring

- Monitor plant performance through SCADA / monitoring systems and identify underperformance or faults.

- Ensure maximum generation and uptime of the solar plant.

- Record daily generation data, downtime, and performance reports.


2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance of PV modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and associated equipment.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in solar systems.

- Replace or repair faulty components such as panels, cables, fuses, and inverters.


3. Inspection & Testing

- Conduct routine inspections of modules, structures, cables, and earthing.

- Carry out testing such as insulation resistance, I

-V curve tracing, and thermography.

- Ensure all equipment is operating within defined parameters.


4. Plant Maintenance

- Ensure module cleaning as per schedule to maintain efficiency.

- Maintain site infrastructure including drainage, fencing, and access roads.

- Coordinate vegetation control and housekeeping of plant premises.


5. Safety & Compliance - Follow all HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) guidelines and procedures strictly.

- Ensure compliance with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) standards and local regulations.

- Use proper PPE and ensure safe working practices at all times.


6. Reporting & Documentation

- Maintain logs of maintenance activities, faults, and corrective actions.

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly O&M reports.

- Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools.


7. Coordination

- Coordinate with O&M engineers and contractors for major breakdowns.

- Assist during plant shutdowns and emergency situations.


Qualifications

- Diploma / ITI / Technical certification in Electrical Engineering or related field. - 1-3 years of experience in solar PV O&M. - Experience working in ground-mounted solar plants.


Required Skills

-Fair knowledge of solar PV systems and electrical equipment.

- Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs, and technical manuals.

- Hands-on troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.

- Basic knowledge of SCADA systems and data monitoring.

- Candidates based in Nepalgunj or surrounding areas will be highly preferred, considering the site-based nature of the role.
