Position Title: Legal Manager


Job Summary: The Legal Manager oversees and manages all legal affairs within the organization, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. They provide legal advice, draft legal documents, and represent the organization in legal proceedings when necessary. The Legal Manager works closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to mitigate legal risks and protect the organization's interests.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Legal Advisory:

    • Provide legal guidance and advice to management and various departments on legal matters affecting the organization.

    • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable jurisdictions.

    • Advise on contracts, agreements, policies, and procedures to safeguard the organization's interests.


  2. Contract Management:

    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.

    • Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements and accurately reflect the organization's intentions.

    • Manage contract lifecycle including renewals, amendments, and terminations.


  3. Compliance Management:

    • Monitor changes in laws and regulations relevant to the organization's operations.

    • Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal standards.

    • Conduct compliance audits and investigations as necessary.


  4. Risk Management:

    • Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

    • Review business activities and proposed initiatives to assess legal implications.

    • Implement risk management policies and procedures to minimize exposure to legal liabilities.


  5. Litigation and Dispute Resolution:

    • Manage legal disputes, claims, and litigation involving the organization.

    • Liaise with external legal counsel and represent the organization in legal proceedings.

    • Negotiate settlements and resolutions to legal disputes when appropriate.


  6. Corporate Governance:

    • Ensure compliance with corporate governance principles and best practices.

    • Assist in the organization's corporate governance structure, including board meetings, minutes, and disclosures.


  7. Training and Education:

    • Provide legal training and awareness programs to employees to enhance understanding of legal issues.

    • Develop educational materials and resources to promote legal compliance and risk awareness.
